Welcome to WePix. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your information when you use the WePix mobile app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: Name, email address, password (encrypted)
• Profile Information: Profile photo, PIX key (optional)
• Group Data: Group names, descriptions, cover images
• Expense Data: Expense descriptions, amounts, payment information
• Messages: Chat messages and images shared in groups

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data: How you interact with the app
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version
• Log Data: Error logs and crash reports for app improvement

2.3 Contact Information (Optional)

With your permission, WePix accesses your device contacts to help you find friends who already use the app. Here is how we handle this data:

• What we access: Phone numbers and email addresses from your contacts
• How we process: All contact data is converted to hash (irreversible code) on your device using SHA-256 encryption before being sent to our servers
• What we store: We do NOT store your contacts. Hashed data is used only for matching and is immediately discarded
• Your control: This feature is completely optional. You can deny contacts permission and still use all other WePix features

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the WePix service
• Create and manage your account
• Enable expense tracking and sharing with your groups
• Facilitate communication between group participants
• Send email notifications for invites and important updates
• Improve functionality and user experience
• Ensure security and prevent fraud

4. Information Sharing

4.1 With Other Users

• Your name, email and profile photo are visible to other participants in your groups
• Your PIX key is shared only when settling payments
• Expenses you create are visible to all group participants
• Messages you send are visible to all group participants

4.2 We Do NOT

• Sell your personal information to third parties
• Share your data with advertisers
• Use your financial information for purposes beyond expense tracking

4.3 Service Providers

We may share data with trusted service providers who help us operate WePix:

• Cloud hosting services (for data storage)
• Email service providers (for invite emails)
• Analytics services (for app improvement)

5. Data Storage and Security

• All passwords are encrypted using industry-standard encryption
• Data is stored on secure cloud servers
• We use HTTPS/SSL encryption for data transmission
• We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data

6. Your Rights (LGPD Compliance)

Under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), you have the right to:

11. PIX Payment Information

WePix is solely an expense tracking tool. We do not process, store or have access to actual PIX transactions. PIX payments are made directly through your bank's app. We only store PIX keys that you voluntarily provide to facilitate payment coordination.
